Ennova wasn’t created in a boardroom.
It started with years spent supporting people in their homes, listening to their stories, and seeing first hand how much the right support can shape everyday life.
For Ennova co-founder Sam Harding, care has always been personal.
Long before becoming an Occupational Therapist, Sam spent five years working as a disability support worker, supporting people to live independently in their homes and communities. Those experiences taught him that good care isn’t just about safety or clinical outcomes.
It’s about helping people continue living the life they want to live.
It’s about routines, relationships, dignity and identity.
Care runs even deeper in Sam’s family. His grandfather, Keith Watkins, was a pioneer of special education in New South Wales and helped establish the North Rocks School for the Blind, becoming its inaugural principal.
The belief that every person deserves opportunity, independence and respect has been passed down through generations.
But Ennova’s story didn’t begin solely through professional experience.
It also began at home.
In 2022 and 2023, both of Sam’s parents, Nicholas Harding and Lynne Watkins, passed away after separate cancer diagnoses.
Throughout treatment and later palliative care, both were determined to remain at home for as long as possible. As their needs changed, so did the roles of Sam and his wife, Ennova co-founder Eilish Parsons.
Together, they became full-time carers in the final months of both their parents’ lives. That experience changed everything.
They saw how important home becomes during life’s most challenging moments. How much comfort exists in familiar surroundings. How much pride people take in the spaces they have created around themselves.
And they saw a problem.
When support equipment entered the home, there was often an expectation that people should simply accept products that looked clinical, institutional or out of place.
Products designed to meet a clinical need, but not always designed with the person in mind. For people like Nicholas and Lynne, who cared deeply about art, design and creating beautiful spaces, there were very few options that felt like they belonged.
That experience became one of the foundations of Ennova.
While Sam brought years of clinical and community experience, Eilish brought a different perspective.
Having studied design and architecture before building a career in project management, Eilish understood the powerful role that design plays in shaping how people feel within their homes and communities. She challenged the idea that assistive technology needed to look medical to be effective.
Together, they shared a belief that support products could be safe, functional and clinically appropriate while also being beautiful, welcoming and worthy of a place in someone’s home.
That belief became Ennova.
Today, Sam leads product development and clinical strategy, ensuring every decision is grounded in real-world needs and lived experiences. Eilish leads operations, branding and marketing, building a company that people can connect with, trust and feel proud to be part of.
Together, they are working to create a future where assistive technology feels less like medical equipment and more like thoughtful design.
Because needing support should never mean sacrificing dignity, identity or the feeling of home.
That’s why Ennova exists.
